This is my spring 2012 hunt. we had 14 hunters for 2 weeks and 7 hunters for a third week. We had a blast and found some really cool coins and artifacts. 8 gold coins and 2 gold rings. Lots of hammered silver, milled silver and loads of artifacts from 1000 BC to present.

Yet another great video from the Yankee Doodle Dandies. They really appreciate what lies within the English landscape.I know there have been negative comments form some subscribers but just maybe this is down to pure jealousy.Put in the effort get the rewards that’s the way it goes! Surely there is enough for all including our colonial cousins.Yankee Doodle came to town searching for a pony stuck a gold coin in his pouch and knew it was not phony.

@1919mum I was born in America and I am an American and proud of it. However, my ancesters (as many Americans) are English. So what is this crap about it being “your history.” The revolution ended years ago. Get over it! Thanks Ron for a nice video!

    14:16 *o* shit

  5. COMMANDERJSP says:

Awesome hunt footage as always! Thanks for shooting and sharing Ron!

  6. misternylon says:

Yes all fair comments and they certainly do look like they are having a good time. I think at first I didn’t really get what was going on here but it certainly seems legit, so fair play to the boys.
Thanks for the comment, the first one to really make sense.

  7. MoonBeyondTheClouds says:

hard to believe so many good finds in one place? from so many different periods?

  8. thesparewheel says:

do you flatten the bent coins you find?

  9. MegaPsychoDave says:

Great video Ron and nice finds, by the way at the start you say “beautiful sunset coming up” Sunsets go down in England and Sunrises come up mate.

  10. 0palineblue says:

This is great ! I would love to do metal detecting , tell me how .

  11. audilab says:

    6 dislikers eat a nut

  12. audilab says:

agree with you there, would love to go detecting with these guys .it would be a scream

  13. audilab says:

these guys are professional metal detectorists ,they pay a lot of money to come over to the uk on detecting holidays and always have permission (they pay to detect our land)
chicagoron61 isnt interested in detecting for monetary gains .he is thrilled by the amount of history our country has hidden .yes they are bragging away as all americans do .at least they arent miserable bookworm types that you usually see detecting.
if your that bothered go out and buy a minelab e-trac £1200

  14. akajocky1 says:

Not only that but they are recording their finds through the Portable Antiquities Scheme and I’m sure a lot of finds by UK detectorists make there way out of the the country via Ebay etc. anyway.

  15. stevegrierson1972 says:

lighten up people, these guys are spending good money in our economy….and finding stuff that might never be seen. It’s good that people want to come here time and time again. Also they will dig more crap than good finds…patience at its best.

  16. billymayer1000 says:

Right, lets leave the artifacts in the ground then so no one can see them. They ask for permission.

  17. 1919mum says:

they should not be allowed to take stuff out of the country its our history. plus how do they get permission ?

  18. 14wafflesandpancakes says:

true, when i want to watch history i look at English metal detecting, if i want to see modern clad then i watch American, it seems coins from the 1800’s are rare for America I found a viccy from 1837 in a friends back garden, the stuff is everywhere

  19. misternylon says:

They are bragging away “that’s why you come to England baby, kick ass baby”
Seems like it’s time for the law to take a look at these modern day piratical looters.

  20. 14wafflesandpancakes says:

do you guys take them home or do they stay in England? It’d be a shame if they were taken out the UK..

  21. 14wafflesandpancakes says:

over hundreds and hundreds of years, territories change, villages collapse and abandoned, battles, theft, crime and people working the land these treasures collect and mount in the fields, there has been some huge hoards found across the UK.

  22. Johnnyissocoollike says:

  23. maxwell8tre says:

Great vids Ron, watched a good few and there’s always top finds and good entertainment on offer! GL & HH – Max.

  24. maverick50616 says:

how do coins end up all over in fields like this anyway? pretty cool

  25. colinaycliffe says:

Some great finds Ron, I detect in the north east of the uk, not as many great finds as further south but we do ok.
Keep up the good work and video’s are great I also video our club digs when I can.
